Thanks for adding this super oldie!
I'm looking for older recordings of songs with telegraph or telephone in the title and or lyrics, or even the "Ameche," which is what cool cats called the telephone for a period of time after seeing the 1939 movie "The Story of Alexander Graham Bell" with actor Don Ameche played the lead role. "Catch you later on the Ameche, baby!" A YouTube search for telephone or variations for phoning churns up a zillion song titles. There is a FAR-OUT 1955 number by a country/western group The Carlisles singing about and wanting to have something they call TELETOUCH!

Great song!
I have been trying to find a copy of this for years. I would sing this to my sweetheart when we were young and apart.

Well, what does edison know?
Fairly ridiculous song sung by a so-so duet, the sound effects of this song are grating as well (the bell is hard on the years, Like the xylophone solo though... And the "Hellooooo" part as well.
